Samsung Evo Firmware Update. Please advise how shall i proceed. Magician versions 5.1 or below:

I have been trying to update my m.2 960 evo (256gb) firmware, but it is always unsuccessful, either via the samsung magican, or the exe file. However, i today discovered that you can update the firmware, though not reperform, by using a windows pc & the latest samsung magician utility [as of today v4.6] without losing any data. There, the dialogue box will indicate whether or not an update is available.
I Did The Update From Version Emt01B6Q To Emt02B6 And There Was No Data Loss.
So if i didn't meet either of those requirement, then i don't need to update the fw update. Ok so, my current firmware is emt01b6q, while the update being reported is emt02b6q. * 1gb=1,000,000,000 bytes by idema.
Please Advise How Shall I Proceed.
Just a heads up,i just started samsung magician software and it informed me that a firmware upgrade was available (i have not researched what's in it) anyhow, ran the firmware update and no problems encountered.
